How to get there by plane

The Moditlo Private Game Reserve is closely located to the Eastgate airport (Hoedspruit), with its twice daily flights from the Johannesburg International airport. The transfer from the Hoedspruit airport to the Vuyani Safari Lodge is included. Please visit www.flyexpress.aero to book your internal flights. Our booking office is happy to advise guests on internal flight schedules and can also handle flight bookings.

Alternatively the Nelspruit airport (Mpumalange International), or the Phalaborwa airport are also nearby. A pick-up at these airports can be arranged for Rand 850/person each way from the Nelspruit airport and Rand 450/person each way from the Phalaborwa airport. How to get there by car

The Moditlo Private Game Reserve can also be reached by car, which takes about 4.5 hours (450km). Please take the N4 from Johannesburg to Nelspruit. At Nelspruit please go towards White River and then onto the R40 leading straight to Hoedspruit. About 30 km before reaching Hoedspruit, please look out for the Moditlo Private Game Reserve main gate.

How to get there with a chauffeur

The Vuyani Safari Lodge offers a direct road transfer from the Johannesburg airport (or any other location in Johannesburg) to the lodge.

The transfer times are fully flexible. One of our rangers will personally welcome you at the Johannesburg airport and will drive you through the beautiful South African landscapes straight to the Moditlo Private Game Reserve where your safari holiday adventure will begin.

This transfer has become very popular in recent times, as the trip complements a perfect South African safari holiday. The route is known as one of the prettiest in South Africa. Our rates are also more competitive than most internal flight prices. A road transfer, both ways, for 1-2 guests, is charged at ZAR4800 (ZAR2900 one way) only.

The scenic drive will allow for stop-over lunch break at Dullstroom for some of the world's best pancakes. Dullstroom is known as South Africa’s fly fishing capital and rests in one of the country’s most dramatic landscapes.

The key advantages of this direct transfer are the following:

• it is often cheaper than the internal flight.
• 100% flexible pick-up times: any time you land, our ranger will be there to welcome you, right at the Johannesburg airport. This allows you to book any international flight, at the lowest rate. Just let us know when you (and what airline) you are arriving, and we'll be there. Please let us know 48 hours before your arrival, or, preferably, as soon as you know your arrival dates/times.
• if there is a flight delay, then there’s no need to worry! Our ranger will wait, and the delay is not charged extra.
• the road transfer only takes 4.5 hours, so it is similar to the door-to-door time if you used the commercial flight option.
• this transfer is only charged upon check-out, so you don't have to pay for it before your stay at the Vuyani Safari Lodge.

How to get there by private jet

Vuyani Safari Lodge can arrange for a private jet transfer from Johannesburg or Cape Town to Hoedspruit, and onwards to most African cities or areas.

On offer are 3 different types of planes, ranging from a 3-seater TBM850, 6-seater Cessna Citation II jet to a 20-seater Embraer 120 Twin Turboprop.

This is the most time-efficient way of getting around in the southern African hemisphere, and a great way of combining several destinations within one visit to Africa.

Prices start from Rand25,000 for private jet transfers. On offer is also a "stand-by" option, where the pilot and plane will remain at the local airport for the duration of your stay, ready to take you onwards to the next destination. Stand-by rates are charged at approximately Rand3,000/day.
